While I was in college, I realized that the best way to comprehend what is taught isn't always in a classroom, but through your peers so I'm ready to help you in any way I can by simplifying everything into everyday language.I most recently worked with an enrichment program teaching science and math to elementary, middle, and high school aged children, and I figured that I loved it so much that I should expand past the four walls of my school. My tutoring philosophy is one that focuses on the goals of the individual and uses their personal talents to strengthen their knowledge base. As a Biologist, I have developed a wide range of academic skills from mathematics, philosophy, psychology, and presentation to help give a holistic, well-rounded experience to students. As a graduate student, I taught Introductory Biology Lab and Molecular Biology Lab at the undergraduate level. In my research, I have facilitated undergraduate training in research skills, animal care, and data analysis, resulting in 4 undergraduate authored publications. Besides extensive experience in tutoring, I am also very friendly, attentive, and patient with students. I have worked with children from kindergarten through graduate school and understand the nuances of teaching at each level. I graduated from Yale in 2015 with a degree in Anthropology. Next year, I will be attending Stanford Medical School to pursue my MD and hopefully begin a career as a pediatrician.For as long as I can remember, I have loved math and science. Now, as a tutor, I am extremely excited to share my passion for these subjects with other students. Though math and science can often be intimidating, I hope to show how approachable these subjects really are. I am currently an undergraduate student at Wesleyan University and am majoring in molecular biology and biochemistry. At Wesleyan, I've been a member of the Science Outreach program, where we teach scientific concepts to students at local elementary schools. This experience has been extremely rewarding and has made me interested in helping other students as well.

I am a second year in the Sophie Davis Program for Biomedical Education. I hold an Associates Degree from Bard College, which I obtained while still in high school. As a pre-medical student, I have a deep love for the sciences but I also love learning new things. My favorite subject to tutor would be Spanish but I am also proficient in English, Writing, Biology, and Algebra. I have been tutoring for four years and have experience tutoring elementary to high school students. I believe that when tutoring I should allow students to explain their confusion so that we can work together towards the advancement of their knowledge. Just lecturing or telling you the answer isn't enough! Outside of school, I love cooking, exercising, reading, doing research, and volunteering.

I am a fourth-year medical student at New York University School of Medicine. As a soon-to-be physician, I have vast experience talking to patients about complicated medical conditions, treatments, medications and various diseases. It is my job to make sure that they understand what I am talking about in a way that allows them to explain it to others. I believe this is one of my best qualities to work as a tutor; the ability to mold concepts to in a way that others are able to comprehend them with ease. I have had many years of teaching experience, which has varied in many ways throughout my life. When I was a teenager, I worked as a swimming instructor for children ages 3 to 12. This allowed me to foster a specific teaching technique where I patiently worked with my students to dissipate their fears (like the fear of water), and build the trust needed for them to allow me to explain very complicated concepts in a way that they'll understand it. I used this technique later in college while I tutored fellow classmates and other college students various subjects, including: math, chemistry, physics, Spanish and biology. After college, I worked as a middle school and high school tutor, teaching math and sciences to children in East Orange, New Jersey.In addition to my teaching experience, I graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a GPA of 3.8 and a bachelors in both Chemistry and Spanish. As a chemistry major, I feel confident teaching chemistry and organic chemistry. As a medical student, I also feel confident teaching MCAT preparation, physiology and anatomy. I am a native Spanish speaker and studied Latin American and Spanish-Language literature extensively, so I am very comfortable teaching Spanish for any level of proficiency.
