Additionally, my experience working with students from all backgrounds has honed my ability to explain difficult concepts in language which will be understandable to a particular student. As an undergraduate student, I recently took the ACT and am currently enrolled in several math, science, and engineering classes. As such, I am uniquely equipped to help students excel in math for either their ACT or SAT as well as to provide them the tools they will require to succeed in their college careers. Not only will do I provide expert and individualized guidance in the complex field of mathematics but I can give your student tips on other important aspects of success in college like effective study habits. If you or your student would like a bit of help with math I would love to give you some assistance. Conversational French Tutor • +6 Subjects

I am a rising junior at Miami University of Ohio, majoring in International Studies and triple minoring in Global Health Studies, Sustainability and French. My passions are in Subsaharan African affairs, from environmental issues, to human rights, the whole nine yards. Fun fact: I've been to five African countries (5 down, 49 to go :D) My hobbies include singing, nature walking, DIY hair and skin remedies, and crocheting.I am interested in tutoring in French. Both my parents are from West Africa; my mother is from the francophone country Cote d'Ivoire, therefore I grew up speaking, listening and understanding French in my household. I have also been studying french for eight years, having now completed three college courses at the 300 level. Back during my secondary education years, I would tutor fellow classmates and students a few years below me.My tutoring style is collaborative; I am dedicated to working with students on any area they require assistance with, and firmly believe in practicing. I also love utilizing resources from the internet, such as apps to practice on or interactive methods to master the materials. For example, I have found personal development utilizing the popular tool of Duolingo. Although I have primarily tutored those around my age level, I am comfortable aiding all ages.Overall, I am excited to tutor for French, not just because it is a beautiful language, but because it is a language I grew up with that has impacted my people in francophone West Africa greatly. A culture has been developed around the language and while teaching, I hope to teach about those cultures and traditions I grew up with!

Since I was a little girl, history has been in my blood, although being a historian was never my plan (I wanted to be an actress). Growing up I was fascinated with Abraham Lincoln and the untimely passing of such a prominent public figure. I loved every trip to the Chicago Historical Society (known today as the Chicago History Museum) as a child. I enjoyed reading about the Puritans and the Native American culture. At this point I'm comfortable classifying myself as a historian although it took me awhile to get to this point in my life. In 1999, I received my B.A. in History from Loyola University Chicago and in 2002, I received my M.A. in Public History from the same school. I then went on to earn my Ph.D. in American History from Northern Illinois University in 2011.I teach college history online full time and I have taught numerous survey and upper-division American history classes at local "traditional" colleges and universities. When I teach, I don't necessarily focus on the facts of history, but on the larger transitions. I want students to understand how history has changed over time. I also try to convey to students that history can be fun to learn. In my personal life, I am the mother of two small children and I have been married for fifteen years. I workout regularly, but I also enjoy being a couch potato. I love being with my kids and husband. Oh and I love Doctor Who! I also enjoy spending time with my friends, debating current issues, history, and historiography.

I am an International Studies and South Asian Studies student at Emory University, but I'm starting to wonder if I should have been an Education major! I've been tutoring students of all ages for the past four years, and I truly enjoy it. I'm happy to say that my students have taught me as much as I've taught them.I recognize that each individual has a different learning style, and, as a result, I've learned to be flexible and personalize my teaching methods for each and every student. I want my students to be interested in the material, so I like to bring educational games and videos into my teaching. My clients are always expected to be actively engaged during a session, so I will never talk at a student or give away answers. The idea is to cultivate a discussion that encourages the pupil to think critically. Most importantly, I believe that every student needs a comprehensive, cohesive support system. I make sure to communicate with my pupils' parents and teachers so that each of us can better understand the student's needs.
