I am a recent law school graduate from Suffolk University Law School and hold a B.S. in Criminal Justice with a minor in business from Virginia Commonwealth University. Throughout high school, college, and law school, I have served as a coach, mentor, and teacher. I coached a swim team for many years, taught swim lessons to everyone from babies to adults, and served as a volunteer assistant with a middle school ESL department. As a law student, I had the opportunity to participate in a program where I taught Constitutional Law to high school juniors and seniors at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School in Cambridge, MA. I loved working with my class and watching how much they learned and grew throughout the year. One of my students was even selected to participate in a national moot court competition, and I had the privilege of coaching him through the competition and watching him compete in Washington, D.C. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about history, government, political science, and law. I also love reading and writing, and am very experienced in drafting all types of writing and papers, including personal statements and college/grad school essays. I am a licensed and practicing attorney in the state of Georgia. I tutor History, English, and writing. I can aid students in preparing for SAT and ACT verbal sections as well as any topical AP exams, having taken many of them myself. I can help students of any level of proficiency take their writing to the next level, from those who struggle with basic skills to experienced writers who need their work checked down to the minutiae of correct punctuation placement in textual citations. Improvement can happen at any level! In the past I have tutored high school students, middle school students, and undergraduates.

I am a recent graduate of St. Agnes Academy in Houston, Texas and a current sophomore at Vanderbilt University studying Economics and Human and Organizational Development. I was first introduced to Varsity Tutors when I received tutoring for the math section of the SAT during my junior year of high school. With hard work, perseverance, and a wonderful tutor I was able to raise my scores significantly and see the positive results that ensued. The experience I had with Varsity Tutors inspired me to return two years later as a tutor with the hope of assisting students in reaching their full potential and attaining their ultimate goals. I have ample experience with test preparation as I have personally taken the ISEE, HSPT, PSAT, SAT, and ACT. I am an avid reader and a passionate writer and am confident that I can help students improve in these areas given that I have already helped many friends and classmates with these subjects and have had experience tutoring as a member of The National Honor Society at St. Agnes Academy. My Human and Organizational Development major, which is designed to teach students how to find solutions to human problems in organizations and communities, has helped me cultivate and expand upon both my problem solving skills and my interpersonal skills. With my skills, personal experience as a student, and knowledge I believe that I can provide students with the tools necessary to succeed. Additionally, I am very accommodating and will work to meet at a convenient time and location for students.

I am also passionate about Texas Rangers baseball, and fill an inordinate amount of my free time with fantasy sports and statistical research on the sport.

I am a graduate of Arizona State University. I received my two Bachelors of Science degrees in Biological Sciences (Animal Physiology and Behavior) and Political Sciences with a certificate in Civic Education. Since graduating, I have started working with the Denver Math Fellows helping close the opportunity gap for high need students by providing small group math instruction. I find the most excitement in tutoring middle school math and science, Algebra I, and General Biology. I find that for most students what makes any subject hard is being unable to use what you already know and not knowing how to tackle the subject. I want to help students by giving them multiple access points and allowing them to access whatever content they desire at their current level. I believe the most important way to help students learn in is to relate content to their current interests and future goals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading non-fiction about technology and neurobiology, hiking, watching sports (mainly football and basketball) and listening to jazz and classical music.

I am very interested in education and have experience working with both children and young adults in New York public schools as well as outdoor summer schools.
