Hi there, my name is Max! I've spend the majority of my life in the central Minnesota area. I attended high school in Elk River, MN and am currently student teaching through St. Cloud State University. I expect to receive a BS in 5th-12th Grade General Science/Chemistry Education this spring.I've spent my time at St. Cloud State studying various subjects with a focus on math, chemistry, biology and other sciences. I've had multiple opportunities to observe and teach in schools around the area, with time spent tutoring students individually.Teaching and tutoring have been passions of mine for as long as I can remember. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to work with you.

I've always been taught that successful people are the ones who ask the most questions. As a Division I Collegiate Softball Player at an Ivy League university (University of Pennsylvania), I've learned more than ever the value of working hard, making a plan, but most of all working together. As a tutor, I want to help students maximize their potential to the fullest, but I also want to learn from them as well. Academics can be a tricky area to navigate, and with a little bit of help I think people will be shocked at what they can accomplish!I am a Communications Major with a penchant for reading, writing, some math, and film! (I picked up a Cinema Studies Minor as well) I used to be an editor in a few newspapers, so I love working with others to improve their writing skills. I have tutored many areas in both high school and college and have coached softball to girls of many ages. I especially love helping students master their test-taking skills, because I understand what it was like having to navigate such a high pressure environment! Providing just a few tools can make a world of difference.

I am an experienced teacher who taught at a private Christian school for 25 years. I tutored students during the school year and the summer. I love working with children. It is exciting to me when a child gets something he/she did not understand before. I like to build a relationship with each student and find out what type of learner he/she is and use methods which will help a child succeed.I believe that a student is not going to be motivated unless he or she is connected with the material. I try to find their interest and strengths and help them make those connections. I like getting to really know my students so I can get to know what kind of learners they are. I plan on what fits my students best.Learning should be fun!

I have a Masters Degree in Adult Education from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, and a Bachelors Degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL. My experience in tutoring spans from Elementary school to college/adult students. I was also hired as an English-Speaking Teacher by the Korean government (SOME) in Seoul, S. Korea. I have had the privilege of meeting students from every walk of life and I am forever grateful for that. Yet, my expertise in tutoring is NOT limited to my education and teaching experience. I have learned also from my experiences during my early high school years. I didnt take education seriously and thus I didnt think I could learn. However, as I progressed up the Education ladder and attained my Masters Degree, I made a promise to myself and to those I have taught and will teach, that I will teach with an understanding and compassion for the learner who can learn, but who may not have the confidence. The truth is, everyone can learn. Its just that sometimes we need help discovering that we can accomplish more than we think.

I am a graduate of Tufts University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English as well as a minor in History. Since graduation, I have worked as a 7th grade Reading Language Arts teacher in Dallas Texas at a newly formed public all boys school. This has provided me with great experience and insight into how students best learn and how to create culturally responsive lessons that students will engage with. I am most passionate about English, Literature, History, and Spanish. In my experience, working to prepare students for state standardized tests has had the additional benefit of helping students to discover what they enjoy reading about. This increase in intrinsic motivation to read has had an important impact on struggling students. I am dedicated towards ensuring that students are provided with an education that increases their quality of life.In my spare time I enjoy reading short fiction, photography, skiing, coaching weightlifting, and traveling with my family.

As a goal-driven, hardworking Corporate Leadership Development Member at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, I am looking to enrich the minds of those around me for the betterment of society. I want to pass on knowledge gained from both my educational and work experience to students at various levels. I am excited to prepare these students to be the innovators and creators of the future!

I am a senior English major with minors in Religion and Comparative Literature. At college, I am co-president of a book club, and I work as a Writing Tutor for a general education curriculum. My enthusiasm for literature, editing, and writing help me in those positions.

I have over 20 years working as a graphic designer, art director, design director and manager in a variety of agencies and industries! I started as an intern on the back end of design working in the production department, and learned a lot of programs, production methods and tricks to get work done quickly!
