I have a B.S. in Mathematics from UMass Amherst where I attended the commonwealth honors college. My Major was Mathematics with a concentration in Mathematical Computation, and I minored in Philosophy. The bulk of my university courses were focused on space and time complexity algorithms. I have a strong background in both Mathematical and computer science proof techniques and experience in programming. As a veteran of the AP program and the SATs, I have the insight and experience to help students understand what is important to succeed on their tests.My non-academic interests are all various forms of gaming. I have been a competitive Magic: the Gathering player for over 13 years. Otherwise I play many video games mostly older series: Touhou, Guitar Hero, and n64 speedruns. My current focus is on danmaku games, and I am currently working on programming my own game in that genre; I someday hope to be a full time game designer.

Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering at Texas Tech University wishing to pursue my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering.Mechanical Engineering was my career of choice because I have a strong need to be challenged and overcome myself. Engineering challenged me alright; it proved to be quite rough but rewarding nevertheless. My curiosity on how the world around us works drove me. This engineering path also gave me the opportunity to participate in my first internship. Last June through August 2014, I had the opportunity to work as a Facilities Mechanical Intern for CH2M Hill; there, I discovered that I am great working with others and can naturally assume a role of leadership.Throughout my education, I have gained great value in the teaching process. I believe a good instructor must show passion, patience, and possess the ability to make topics contagious to his/her students. I would sum up my teaching philosophy with one of my favorite Albert Einstein quotes: "Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler."Although I have lived over nine years in "The Lone Star State," I am originally from Panama City, Panama.
