I graduated from Wright State University with my BA in AYA Social Science Education, and am currently in graduate school at Grand Canyon University working towards my master's of Education in Special Education. My goal is to have students play an active role in the decision-making process for how their sessions are going to go. The key element to learning and retaining information is helping make the decisions. I plan to have students be an equal teammate in this process. I look forward to working together!

I have recently retired from Procter and Gamble P&G where I served as a Research Scientist. Most of my career has been involved in synthetic chemistry pertaining to the pharmaceutical industry. Also at P&G, I worked in developing beauty care products for consumers around the world. I am from Dayton, Ohio. and I have been teaching, mentoring, and training children and adults for 10+ years. My favorite subject to teach is Math. I love this the most because it causes people to "think outside of the cube (see what I did there?)" to find solutions to problems. I have been an educator for 24 years. The last 16 years have been in educational leadership where I was able to ensure that all facets of education were superior for all students! My experience working with students range from being a college instructor to a youth counselor. All roles have been rewarding especially as an elementary and high school principal. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Wright State University and my Masters of Science in Teaching degree from the University of Dayton. I am a licensed elementary and middle school teacher, a licensed Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade principal and a licensed school Superintendent. I love public speaking, working out, cooking and writing in my journal daily.I am passionate about tutoring students because I once had a tutor. Having a tutor allowed me to feel motivated, encouraged and inspired! My life changed from feeling defeated to victorious! This was due to my tutor believing that I could, so I did! Now I am able to give that same energy back to students I work with. I believe when students are given the right tools according to their learning style, they can achieve with patience and practice as we have fun doing it! I am an experienced educator with 29 years in the teaching profession. I can diagram sentences, analyze Shakespeare, Woolf, Dickinson, and Thoreau. I can evaluate literary essays, research projects, and college admissions essays. I can lead/encourage a student to become a better writer, reader, thinker, and public speaker. These "talents" are not the most important components of me as an educator, though. I am a lifelong learner. I genuinely and earnestly become excited and animated about the learning process. I enjoy sharing my own passion and thirst for learning and knowledge with my students. I both encourage and challenge them to also become lifelong learners. It's a beautiful cycle to which we, as educators, are fortunate to contribute.

Learning is best managed when the two parties involved are both motivated towards the same goal. I have tutored for 21 years for an accredited college, well in excess of 20,000 hours. No individual student learns the same way. Being flexible and willing to adjust styles is a must. Over the years I have found many different ways to help students succeed. I would be glad to help you do that as well. I am most well versed in economics, accounting, and math.

Dominic Theodore graduated from Ohio university with B.A. in psychology. He then went on to earn an M.S. in anatomy from Wright State University and was president of his graduate class. He served as a tutor and teaching assistant throughout undergrad and graduate school, which he continues currently in medical school. He also worked as an adjunct professor at Ohio University in his gap year, during which he taught anatomy, intro biology, and physiology. He is currently a medical student (MS4) at Wright State University, after which he plans on matching internal medicine and ultimately completing a cardiology fellowship. So far in medical school, he has tutored other med students, was nominated for Outstanding 2nd Year Student, and dedicated much of his free time to volunteering and research. He has also served as a member of his school's admissions committee.
