I was lucky enough to attend OU on a National Merit Scholarship that covered my expenses almost entirely, so the National Merit qualification process is one that I deeply believe in and understand. Successful test taking is as much a product of understanding the test itself as it is the material being covered, and having one on one guidance in understanding how to take a test can markedly improve a score. An important part of gaining that understanding is working in the ways that each student learns best. I knew I wanted to be a social studies teacher in 7th grade. We studied Ancient Egypt and Greece. My passion is history, especially Ancient History and I want to get students excited about the past. I earned my Ph.D. in Anthropology at Michigan State University. At MSU I was a Teaching Assistant (TA) and a professor and taught Introduction to Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, and Archaeology. I was a TA for many anthropology classes that were part of general education requirements. I earned my MA in Anthropology at the University of Oklahoma and my BA at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. At Bloomsburg I was a double major in History (WWII and Russian) and Anthropology. A trip to Mexico made me realize I wanted to be an Anthropological Archaeologist. I want to teach students about the past and current cultures from around the world. With an anthropological view students gain a greater understanding of history. During the last two years, I was an English as A Second Language (ESL) instructor for 6- to 14-year-old children that live in China. I found teaching English to young students very fulfilling and lots of fun. The subjects I can tutor for are ancient and modern history, anthropology, reading, and ESL.

In my current role as a reservoir engineer at ExxonMobil, I use computer models and reservoir engineering principles to estimate the rates and reserves of oil and gas projects. Beyond the technical challenges of reservoir engineering, I am also the Angola Subsurface team lead for economics and economic modeling. This role involves educating engineers and geoscientists to better understand the complexity of the Production Sharing Contract between ExxonMobil and the government of Angola. I am regularly asked to teach others in my group how to model the complicated nuances of this contract.Before starting my career with ExxonMobil, I studied Petroleum Engineering and Business Entrepreneurship at the University of Oklahoma. Before that, I graduated from Texas A&M University with my Bachelor's degree, also in Electrical Engineering. I first started studying psychology while attending the University of Groningen in The Netherlands and then finished my degree at the University of Oklahoma in the United States. I love studying the mechanisms behind how humans think and behave and how psychology is fundamentally linked to both the sciences and humanities. Besides psychology, I also focused on classes in professional writing, and I have been editing and tutoring writing since I was studying for my International Baccalaureate degree in high school. I currently live in the UK where I'm doing my Masters in International Education and Development.I tutor Writing and English at all academic levels, as well as Psychology and Social Studies.
