I feel that education opens a world of possibilities. I believe in supporting students on their level, guiding work within their learning type, and connecting learning to their personal prior knowledge. I have degrees in Nursing as well as my degree in education. I am certified to teach preschool-3rd grade and kindergarten-12th grade Art. I am willing and able to teach other ages and subjects where needed. I strive to foster a love of learning and a desire for knowledge. I look forward to building positive relationships with students improving their eagerness to learn. Learning should not be dreaded or a punishment. Learning should engage the student's interests and curiosities and build upon their current level of understanding. I want to inspire growth in my students.

As a passionate educator with a Bachelor's in English Education from Cameron University, I am dedicated to fostering a love for language and literature in my students. Currently certified to teach in Oklahoma, I bring experience from the classroom and a commitment to subjects such as AP English, Composition, Creative Writing, and English Grammar and Syntax. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel empowered to express themselves and refine their skills. I strive to connect with each learner, adapting my methods to meet their unique needs. For my academic career I have to say I went all the way. I hold a Ph.D. in Business from Northcentral University, an MBA from Oklahoma City University and a post graduate certificate from Trident University (Post graduate work in Business). My undergraduate degrees are in science (BS and AS). I served in the US Marines and have traveled all over the world. I am semi-retired with time on my hands. I am certified as a secondary education teacher in all subjects from 4th to 8th grade. I hold special certification in science (4th to 6th grades) and business (6th to 12th grades). I have tutored students in math and science from 4th to 8th grades and in college, I have tutored and taught in any business subject. While I tutor students in all subjects, I am very passionate in science and business. I have taught students from all over the world. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) prepping for the Critical Reading, math, history, and Writing portions of the exams. When I was in 5th grade, I could hardly read or write. My 5th grade teacher helped me develop the skills necessary to learn and thrive. Back then, they did not have special programs to help students with learning problems, especially dyslexia. I owe her everything for my success and the future I created. I am trying to pay her back for her he, helping you succeed. You see, I went from a Cs, Ds, and Fs to straight As in high school and college (Although in college I did achieve a few Bs and one Cs). So can you. I am a firm proponent and believer in quality education. I have no doubt that education is the significant key factor for an improved quality of life and success in your future. I am the product of that success in my life and hope by paying it forward, I will impart this appreciation to you. In my spare time, I enjoy reading that which enriches my life, sailing, working out when I can, and the odd game of strategy. But If I am limited on time, I am usually on my sailboat, usually with one or more of my grandchildren.

I see speaking a foreign language as a key to a door opening up a new world of possibilities and opportunities. "Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow" This quote by Oliver Wendell Holmes sums up perfectly the reason why I feel so passionate about the languages spoken around the world... I taught Spanish at all levels and i love the fact that my college students went on to travel overseas to study and pursue a career in foreign language. My love of languages was formed ever since I knew i wanted to be a teacher. I understand the process of teaching and also how and why students struggle with the learning process. I have extensive experience working with all type of students. I also created innovating strategies and techniques to learn the material.

I am passionate about tutoring because it empowers the group. In addition to possessing bachelors degrees in mathematics and computer science from Cameron University, I was formerly certified by Oklahoma State Department of Education as a mathematics teacher. Currently I am certified by Magic Ears University as an TESOL (120 Hour) educator. My teaching philosophy is a blend of a hands-on skills and theoretical knowledge.

I am a mother of 5 kids: the three girls are 15, 12, and 10, while my boys are 3 and 2. the boys are bilingual, as my husband is Hispanic!I am a highly qualified, elementary school teacher, with 11 years of public school experience in Title 1 schools.
