About Me

I hold a Bachelor's degree with dual majors in Elementary Education and English Literature, and a Master's Degree in Education with a concentration in Teaching and Learning. I have worked as an elementary school teacher, having taught second grade up to eighth grade. Additionally, I have tutored professionally throughout my career working with fourth graders up to master's-level students. My favorite topics to tutor are English and Math, and I bring a fun, model-based approach to my work with students. Because I understand every student has their own academic strengths and challenges, I make it a point to approach each tutoring session with patience and understanding while helping students to gain confidence through focused encouragement and gentle correction of mistakes. I truly believe education is the backbone of a well-functioning society, and so I try very hard to impart a love for learning into each student I work with. When not teaching and tutoring I enjoy playing guitar with my band, reading, and spending quality time with my wife, children, and extended family.
