About Me

Nice to meet you! I'm J.T., a mathematician, computer programmer, and general-purpose nerd stereotype from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I hold two master's degrees: one in human rights policy from the University of Minnesota, and one in discrete mathematics from Michigan Technological University, where I also completed my undergraduate studies with a dual major in computer science and mathematics and a physics minor. As part of my master's program, I held an assistantship teaching first-year calculus for three semesters (after one semester of training), and I have worked with individual students for several years through private tutoring work. I've also worked as a teaching assistant for linear algebra and later calculus courses. In addition to my tutoring work, I am also pursuing a public policy career, intending to use my multidisciplinary background to use helping address the complex intersection of developing technologies and human rights issues.
