I have worked for 10 years as an educator in the subjects of ESL and ELA. More specifically, I have worked in the areas of phonemic/phonological awareness, phonics, and morphology, as well as teaching English reading, writing, listening, and speaking to non-native speakers. I am currently in the process of Orton Gillingham training for teaching students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. I am also working towards a Master's Degree in Literacy. I enjoy tutoring all subjects, but my personal favorite is in the area of phonics, because I feel it is the key to unlocking the rest of the literacy skills that students will achieve in their lifetime. I am laid-back and enjoy getting to know my students and being able to joke with one another while we work. Respect and focus are important, but so is fun and having a solid student-tutor relationship. We will master content, but we will enjoy doing it. :)
