Sarah

I graduated from Hillsdale College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Politics and later a Master of Arts degree in Politics. At Hillsdale, I am currently working on my doctoral dissertation, which focuses on political theory and the relationship between politics and religion. Over the past seven years, I have tutored middle school, high school, and college students in mathematics: pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. During my time in graduate school, I have also counseled graduate and undergraduate students in writing and exam prep for their classes, especially in political science. I believe students "teaching back" to me helps them solidify their understanding of concepts in any subject. I ultimately aim to help students cultivate habits for self-education that they can carry with them throughout life: critical thinking, problem-solving strategies, and clear communication of ideas. When I am not writing my dissertation or tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family, experimenting with new baking techniques, and volunteering at my local church.
