- Helping students is the rent I pay to be a part of society, our global community, as corny as that may sound.
- Currently, I'm an online ESL teacher with Education First.
About Me
Words/language are my media so I appreciate every opportunity I get to help others achieve their English-language goals: learning to read, becoming a better writer, learning English as a second language, etc. From 2010-2014, I was a youth services library aide in metro Atlanta, GA. My public library work included planning library events for kids such as preschool story time, Vacation Reading Program (a summer literacy initiative), and community outreach to schools and daycare centers. I have a BA in English from the University of Georgia and a 120-hour TESOL certificate through International Open Academy. I'm contemplating going for a Masters in Education but for now I've taken my experience to the internet to tutor in all manor of English-Language Arts subject matter including English literature, English as a Second Language (ESL), Writing, Literacy, etc. I'm a patient, laid back minimalist when it comes to my teaching style (not a ton of props or over-the-top edutainment). I am here to help you learn, flourish, and become more confident in your English studies.
Hobbies & Interests
Everything about music fascinates me: from songwriting to audio production and engineering. I play, to varying degrees of competency, ukulele, keyboard and rhythm guitar. Also, I enjoy poetry (reading and writing it), walks around my neighborhood, and reading.
