About Me

Hi! I'm Cena. I'm a graduate of Oberlin College, where I received a BA in English Literature and Comparative American Studies, with a heavy (extracurricular) concentration in music and audio engineering. I'm a New York native and attended Bard High School Early College, where I fell in love with spending a great deal of time writing and thinking about books. I've previously interned at a literary agency, where I read manuscripts all day and wrote reader's reports, and spent my pre-COVID post-graduate time working as a live sound engineer at a number of music venues around New York City. I'm very passionate about writing, literature, and music -- I love teaching these subjects, and helping students identify with their work in a way that develops personal investment. These areas have proved (and still are) completely foundational to coming into my personhood, and I'm deeply invested in evoking the same in my students.
