Since then, I've worked actively to learn as much as possible and share my knowledge with others. As a first generation college student, I understand the value a quality education can have on an individual. I am grateful for the academic opportunities I've had and use this gratitude as my foundation in working with others. I'm grateful for every opportunity I have to positively impact a person's life through education. I have experience with a variety of students! I've worked with Pre-K to college, but have my Bachelor and Master degrees are in Middle Grades (6-9) from East Carolina University. I've had the privilege of teaching, tutoring, coaching, and supervising students who are gifted, students with disabilities, and students in low income areas. Education is my #1 passion. Outside of education, I'm passionate about mental health, my dog, and dance! I never understood the importance of mental health until college. Now, I influence my students, friends, and family by acting as a role model and offering insight when requested. My dog is a pain in the butt, but she has taught me about patience and loyalty. I love taking her to the dog park, on hikes, or training her. Finally, dance! I've been dancing for as long as I can remember. At this moment, I'm most interested in Latin styles of dance (salsa, bachata, and zouk!). I grew up training in ballet, tap, lyrical and more.
