About Me

I graduated from the University of California in Santa Cruz, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics. During my time at university, I focused on French, German, foreign language education, and applied linguistics; I also had the privilege of completing a year abroad at the Humboldt University of Berlin, where I studied linguistics in German! After graduating, I worked for three years as a tutor, academic coach, and operations manager of a tutoring company in Berkeley, California. There, I tutored students of all ages in reading, writing, French, German, test preparation, and executive functioning. From there, I moved to Austria for a year under Fulbright Austria as an English language teaching assistant; I worked in two Austrian high schools, learning from a number of skilled local teachers, and developing and teaching my own English lessons. As a tutor, I am a strong believer that no two students are alike, so I adapt my teaching style to each student to help them learn using their strengths while developing the areas they need to improve. Additionally, I like to take a holistic view of a students academic needs to help them move beyond their challenges with a particular subject. In my free time, I love reading, listening to podcasts, learning languages, going to concerts, film photography, exploring my neighborhood, and cooking.
