About Me

Having the opportunity to tutor students in the subjects I enjoy most is exciting. I hope to be able to help students reach their full potential. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Molecular Genetics, with a minor in European History, from The Ohio State University, as well as a Masters Degree in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University. I will be applying to medical school next year and consider tutoring an ideal endeavor for the interim period. I have teaching experience at multiple levels of education. This past year I was employed as a Teaching Assistant for a graduate-level Immunology class at CWRU and have also tutored inner-city grade school children in mathematics, reading, science, and social studies. I am qualified to tutor any K-8 subject, all levels of Biology (including AP and College), Immunology, History, and Public Speaking. Biology is the subject for which I am most passionate, as I find it challenging and have always excelled at it. My style of teaching is both hands on and visual. I like to draw and physically show concepts as much as possible. I also employ a reverse teaching style where I challenge the student to explain the subject matter to me in detail. This method has generally worked well as it clearly demonstrates to the students where they need the most assistance in any particular area. Personally, I am a huge sports fan, especially Ohio State Football. I love boating, ice skating, and spending time with my adorable year-old son, husband, and my dog.
