About Me

My name is Jaclyn. I am a certified teacher who specializes in general, special and gifted education. I have an abundant background in and outside of the classroom working with students of all ages and ability levels. Over the years I have been a substitute and math/reading elementary school teacher, homeschool/at home instructor, private tutor, camp counselor and director. In addition, I have worked closely with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder as a behavioral therapist, life skills coach and shift leader in ABA, art and music therapy. I've also tutored students with learning disabilities.

As a teacher, I recognize that each student learns differently based on their unique learning style. My teaching philosophy is based off the quote by educator Ignacio Estrada, "If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." That is exactly what I strive for. I get to know my students and create an environment most applicable to their learning needs.
