About Me

I am a graduate of East Carolina University, where I earned a B.S. in Mathematics with a Concentration in Statistics. I have tutored many subjects, including Biology, English, and accounting, but the bulk of my experience over the last six years has been tutoring middle school through college level mathematics and statistics. I have spent the last two years working on an M.S. degree in Statistics at The Ohio State University. At OSU I have taught undergraduate students through the leading of recitations, tutoring students in the statistics tutoring lab, as well as teaching a lecture section to over 200 students. In my many years of working with students in math and statistics, what I have learned is that everyone can be successful if they have the right teacher. Not everyone learns the same way, so it is important for a tutor to be able to explain the same concept in several different ways in order to find the method that works best for the student. I truly love helping others learn and grow. My favorite subjects are Statistics (of any level), Algebra I and II, Calculus I, Pre-Algebra, and Pre-Calculus, but I enjoy any opportunity to work with a student. Nothing is more satisfying than having a student who I've worked with tell me that they feel confident in their abilities. I hope to have the opportunity to help you gain confidence and subject mastery as well.
