In my career as a resource room teacher I have created a warm, positive environment in my classroom where my students feel welcomed and are encouraged to learn new things. The best reward as a teacher is seeing the difference you can make in the life of a student who has special learning needs. When you can make learning new concepts a fun and attainable goal for your students, that is the best feeling! My biggest success with my group of students over the last few years has been in the area of language arts. Through my training in Wilson Just Words and Fundations, I have taught non-readers how to use word attack skills, and multi-sensory tools in order to read and write. Watching the progress of my students in this area has been the most amazing experience!
