I have a B.A. in English with a minor in Anthropology, Medical Assistant Certificate and am working toward a degree in Chemical Engineering at CUNY. I first began teaching students in a secondary, therapeutic classroom in Lawrence, Kansas. I like to ask questions to build confidence and encourage academic conversation. I also taught English as a Second Language in Korea where I adopted novel approaches to communicate across the language barrier as well as to keep students interested. My favorite subjects to tutor are grammar, writing, and literature because I love to read, but I also tutor test-prep, algebra, and lower-level maths. In my free time I like to read, play my bass/guitar, take my dog for walks, and cook.
