About Me
I am currently taking classes at Temple University, majoring in middle school math and science education, and am expecting to graduate in the spring of 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in education. I am also confident in this area because of my ability to help students understand what steps they need to take or what techniques will be the most helpful to their own specific learning. My main goal for teaching is to help students develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. These are not only important for math but can be used in any subject and become increasingly important as students move on from school and into the working world. I also believe it is absolutely vital to create an environment in which students are comfortable asking questions, answering questions, and sharing their own ideas. I want my students to feel safe sharing ideas because this will facilitate the learning process and help reduce stress during teaching sessions. Finally, I believe strongly in the importance of learning from one's peers through social interactions. It is a great idea to practice problems and ideas with friends and classmates because you can see different ways to look at and solve problems.
