About Me

I graduated from UNC Charlotte in May of 2015 with a B.S. in Mathematics. I am currently enrolled in Graduate School working on a Master's in Information Technology. I am currently employed as a math tutor at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC where I tutor in courses including k-12 math, pre-calculus, algebra, calculus I and II, and Trigonometry. I have been tutoring in Math since my high school years. I have experience tutoring from elementary math up to college level math. I was employed at UNC Charlotte as a Math tutor and teacher's assistant for over 3 years as well as previous employment as a tutor..What makes me stand out as a tutor is my patience and ability to make students feel comfortable. Patience goes a long way when teaching a frustrated student. Being understanding of a student who is having difficulty picking up a concept, not displaying signs of frustration, and a willingness to repeat an explanation or finding a new way to explain a topic are key elements to being a good tutor. Helping others learn makes me feel as though I am making a small but significant difference. Math has always been my favorite subject! I love learning new concepts and helping others learn as well. I have a strong passion for Math and I believe that, even if it is irrelevant to one's future career, Math is used in daily life and helps to build analytical and critical thinking skills; therefore, I believe Math should be taught and learned by all.
