I try to teach students the big picture and how different concepts come together rather than give them one answer to memorize. I use diagrams and pictures to really emphasize the importance of visual learning. As a tutor, I try to figure out why a student does not understand a concept and immediately try to tailor my approach to fulfill that student's needs. I help the student relate science to their daily lives using stories and examples so he or she may gain a better understanding of the material. I have taken this integrative approach myself when studying for my college classes as well as any standardized tests such as the SAT, SAT Subject Tests, PSAT, ACT and MCAT, and have found it extremely helpful.
