Throughout college, I tutored students in underperforming St. Louis schools through the program Each One Teach One. This summer I will be working with advanced students in a summer enrichment program for grades 3-5. Through both my student teaching position and methods classes at my university, I have gained invaluable experience in many areas of teaching. My experience includes teaching in a classroom, developing unit plans, recognizing the different ways in which students learn, and developing lessons based on individual needs. I genuinely enjoy the process of learning and want to share my love of learning with my clients. Additionally, I was fortunate to study abroad in Madrid for five months and have minored in Spanish. My hobbies include writing, dance and music. My goal as a tutor is to create individualized plans to target strengths and weaknesses and foster academic success. Additionally, I want to give my students the tools to become problem solvers and gain confidence and interest in their studies. I believe that these goals can be accomplished through a positive and supportive environment conducive to learning.
