I am a passionate, driven educator who believes everyone can learn. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to not only be a teacher, but also be a role model and mentor. My educational philosophy is centered around adapting my teaching style to better meet the learning needs of each individual. Academically, I have a bachelor's in education (teacher certified) and history from Hope College, a master's in teaching from the George Washington University, and I am currently earning my Ph.D. in urban education policy studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Professionally, I have worked in various educational institutions including Chicago Public Schools, Adler Planetarium, The Field Museum, and the Smithsonian National Museum of Air and Space, teaching everything from elementary math and reading, to astronomy and anthropology. I look forward to potentially serving you and working together to attain your educational goals.
