I am an undergrad student at Agnes Scott college, currently pursuing bachelors in neuroscience and biomedical engineering. I grew up in a STEM focused household, and though I've always been inclined in those fields I've also always loved making art in whatever way I can.

I'm an engineer with tutoring experience ready to help students of all ages in a variety of math subjects, as well as with standardized testing needs. Being an engineer means that I'm a problem-solver, and that I need to be able to adapt to a variety of situations. I apply that skill to my tutoring: every student is different, and I adapt my teaching methods to those differences.

I am not working with students, you could find me: in the kitchen, cooking foods from around the world (with names I can hardly pronounce); in front of the computer, playing video games and listening to music; or outside, hiking/gardening/swimming/reading on a hammock (weather permitting!) Rachel's experience as a research assistant and investigator for public defense organizations sharpened exactly this skill — she regularly evaluates conflicting claims and identifies logical gaps. She breaks each stimulus into premise, conclusion, and assumption so students can attack any question type systematically.

I am also an academic life coach and advisor, as well as a graduate programs administrator. I love to write and have been published both under my own name and under a handful of other pen names. I regularly present to my local professional organizations on topics regarding student success, particularly at the graduate level.

I am fluent in both Chinese and English. Since I grew up in China, I have a Chinese cultural background which I intend to incorporate into my lessons. I took the AP Chinese exam and am very familiar with the test. I have tutored the Chinese 4 class in my high school in the past few years and I am confident to tutor any high school level Chinese.

I'm currently a student in the MD/MBA program between Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and the Kellogg School of Management, and graduated from Northwestern University as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. I attended the Bergen County Academies in New Jersey, a selective, application-based magnet school, for high school.

I am a second year law student at the University of Chicago who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area! I tutor the SAT, ESL, and Spanish. I was an AVID tutor in high school, and after college I taught an ESL class and tutored a high school student in Spanish. In law school, I am involved with the Lawyers in the Classroom program. My tutoring philosophy is based on listening to students work through problems and helping them to spot their confusions or incorrect assumptions. I believe students learn much better when they aren't simply told the right answer or right reasoning; they need to get there on their own.

I am a new graduate of Pomona College, in Claremont, CA, where I studied Religion and Philosophy. I am a junior studying Writing for Screen and Television at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. I am currently studying chemical engineering at the University of Michigan. I have always helped out my fellow students with schoolwork, and I have tutored in the National Honor Society for three years. My tutoring strengths include my abilities to stay calm, be patient, and offer different perspectives on the learning process. I'm a college student attending the University of Michigan and I'm majoring in chemistry and computer science. I can also say that I understand completely how difficult the process of test prep and high school chemistry can be because I recently survived the whole process myself having taken IB chem and the ACT/SAT in the last 1-2 years and studying and prepping extensively for them.
