I am originally from Edison, New Jersey and a graduate of John P. Stevens High School. At Syracuse, I am the lead undergraduate researcher in the Public Affairs department, an executive board member of multiple student organizations, and of course succeed academically. I know how to excel, and I know the steps to get there. I am curious, creative, and above all, driven. These traits have helped me set myself up for success in college and in life. I was responsible for creating lesson plans and steering the conversation among the students. I have also had the opportunity to tutor a student to help improve her writing. These experiences have allowed me to understand how people learn and improve their skills; practice, practice, practice.I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English and Textual Studies. In my college years, I greatly improved various skills involving writing, research, reading comprehension, grammar, studying, and more. I put some of my skills to the test when I edited a blog, as well as contributed a couple of articles.

For the past 10 years I have been living overseas. I've recently moved back to the US and I am currently living in Syracuse. I moved with my parents to Saudi Arabia senior year of high school, and in the interest of exposing myself to a culture different from mine, I decided to continue my higher education over there. I graduated for medical school in Saudi Arabia and I am currently working on my United States Medical Licensing Exams so I can practice medicine here in the US. Due to my educational background, I have an excellent grasp of the biological sciences and I have always been able to help others understand difficult concepts.Also while living in Saudi Arabia I had the opportunity to teach English as a second language for many years. I believe that living in a place with such a rich and unique culture, so different from our own, has given me an understanding on how to teach the English language effectively to people who were not necessarily exposed to the same cultural experiences.So if you're having trouble with your undergrad or high school science courses, or if you would like get a grasp on the English language I would be more than happy to help.

I received a PhD in political science from the University of Missouri in St. Louis. I also received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Truman State University (Kirksville, Missouri). I am currently an Assistant Professor of political science at State University of New York (SUNY) in Cortland. I tutor students in a range of subjects, though I am most excited to work with students in the subjects of writing, English, social studies/civics, American history and government. I am also good at helping students develop research proposals and outlines. I am passionate about helping high school students master material that will help them be successful in high school while also preparing them for college settings. I also very much enjoy helping college students get the most out of their college education by supporting them in being successful in their courses. I aim to help students with their acute course needs as well as assist them in developing skills for studying and learning that they can use throughout their entire lives. Before getting my PhD, I worked for nonprofit organizations; this experience allows me to engage with students about government and politics in ways that are real and relevant. I also like to help students explore career paths that can utilize their interest in government and politics. In my spare time, I enjoy reading fiction, hiking in one of the many beautiful state parks in upstate New York, and volunteering with organizations that help animals.

I graduated from Hamilton College in 2014, where I received my BA in biology with honors. I am currently taking some time off of school to save up money and spend time with my family, but I ultimately hope to pursue a Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology next fall. I am qualified to teach math and biology, and I am adept at editing college level papers.My primary tutoring experience consists of my time as a college math literacy worker with the Young People???s Project. Every week, I would visit 7th and 8th graders in Utica, NY to help them with math assignments, and I led activities intended to promote student confidence and leadership skills. I also help friends and relatives with college level papers and college applications, working alongside these students to help them build stronger thesis statements, develop cohesive paragraphs, and organize their papers.Although biology is my favorite subject to learn and research, I love tutoring students in math. Math can be a very difficult and frustrating subject, and students truly enjoy achieving the ???light bulb??? moment where a challenging topic suddenly makes sense. We can work toward this "lightbulb" moment together by finding out where the student has difficulties, and trying different learning materials to overcome these obstacles.In my spare time, I enjoy hiking in the Adirondacks, walking my dog around Rotterdam, and teaching myself evolutionary biology. I???ve recently learned that I also love to travel, thanks to my long-term relationship with a French exchange student. I had the opportunity to travel to France twice this year, and I am now trying to teach myself French with the hopes that I can live there one day.

I am a graduate of Binghamton University. I received my Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Spanish Language; Literature and Philosophy Politics; Law. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively throughout Latin America and Europe. I also spent time teaching English in Costa Rica and Argentina (I am a certified ESL instructor). While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Spanish, ESL, and Writing. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time I enjoy reading, teaching and practicing yoga, writing, hiking, and drawing.
