Statistics Tutoring review by Mychael in The Woodlands, TX

Statistics Tutoring review by Benjamin in The Woodlands, TX
Focused on adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers. Used two tricks to work out answers (double negatives cancel each other out and negative with a positive, negative takes precedence). Drilled with many problems. By the last problem set, he had gotten 12 in a row correct. Practiced unit conversions with remaining time. Redrew graphic organizer.

Statistics Tutoring review by Dylan in The Woodlands, TX
The student was about to take an exam over chapter 9 of his text, covering the binomial theorem, sequences, and series. We began the session by having him work through some teacher-provided review problems. Then, to integrate much of what he had recently been learning, including series, fractional decomposition, and functions, I gave him an activity I had made for him involving deriving the explicit formula for the Fibonacci sequence. Although the activity was a formidable challenge, he completed it before the session's end.

Statistics Tutoring review by Lauren in The Woodlands, TX
The first student and I worked on fractions (finding the LCD, adding) and composite area (focus on subtraction of shapes). The second student and I continued to work on money (making change, counting) and decimal division/multiplication. She seems to be able to do the work when we're side-by-side. I think that more practice is the key to being able to do it independently. The third student and I worked through some more of the algebra 1 packet. We focused on algebraic fractions, solving for variables and using radicals.

We reviewed one more packet and at this point I think is tine for the student to begin putting equations together in study guide. She's pretty familiar now with the types of questions she'll likely see in the exams.
