No toy was safe in my hands. As a child, I always took my toys apart to see their inner components and how they produced sound or light. Most survived the reassembly stage, while others were mourned by my mother's pocketbook. When I was in the fifth grade, my mother gave me my first toolkit. To say the least, I took apart everything in the house that could be disassembled with a screwdriver. Along with deconstructing anything that gained my interest, I also enjoyed crafting things.I associate these childhood curiosities with my current interests as I find myself wondering how natural phenomena occur and daydreaming about inventions. Studying the interactions between humans and technology have been in my interests for most of my high school and college career. My short-term goal is to explore different focuses so that I can develop an understanding of my personal interests in the field of physics. My long-term goal is to use my passion for sharing knowledge as an educator and to help others find what peaks their curiosities.

I graduated this May from UC Berkeley with a BS in Chemistry, Highest Honors, and will be starting grad school in chemistry next year at Stanford. In college, I had the privilege of serving as a peer tutor for my fellow students, including those of underrepresented and nontraditional backgrounds. I am able to tutor a broad range of chemistry courses, from organic to physical to general chemistry, as well as math and physics classes. I can also help with test prep for the ACT, SAT, or GRE. I believe that asking questions is the basis of independent learning, so I strive to create an environment students feel that no question is too small to be asked. I'm Stephanie and I'm currently a doctoral student attending LECOM's school of pharmacy. My two favorite things in life are science and film! Within my academic timeline, I have taken and excelled at various science-related subjects (my favorite being biology/microbiology). At my school, I can usually be found organizing and leading study groups or attending a herbal medicine club meeting. When I am not being a student, I run a film criticism podcast titled "Purple Noon: A Podcast" as well as run various social media accounts where I share my knowledge and experience in film.

I am an undergraduate senior who will graduate from Rice University this May, where I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. After graduation, I will be going to medical school at UT Houston in the Texas Medical Center. I have experience as a tutor at Rice, where I tutored student-athletes in subjects such as biology and chemistry, which are fields I specialize in. I have helped tutor many friends in the two scientific portions of the MCAT, and this is the discipline I am most passionate about. I am a firm proponent of helping students help themselves.
