I recently graduated from Vassar College, where I majored in education. While at college, I tutored elementary through high school students in English language arts, social studies and math. I also led after school art and cooking activities. Since graduating, I worked as a paralegal in Chicago for eight months, and I recently moved to NYC to pursue education related career opportunities. I am a graduate of Northwestern University, where I received my Bachelor's degrees in Voice Performance and Language Studies, and I recently finished my Master's degree at the University of Maryland, College Park. My studies have focused on music, reading, writing, foreign languages, and translation theory. I am a passionate learner and teacher, finding mentorship to be extremely rewarding and seeking out opportunities to help individual students learn, develop confidence, and grow. As an Advisor at Northwestern University's Office of Undergraduate Research, I tutored over 100 students of diverse disciplines per year, working with them privately on their writing and their research ideas. My students' growth was undeniable, as the office saw a huge jump in successful grant applications and nearly tripled its number of successful applications in both the humanities and arts areas (whose students were almost entirely assigned to me). I have also co-taught Northwestern University classes through this office. As a private music/performance teacher, I have taught voice and piano as well as tutoring in the areas of music theory/history and even public speaking. Having spent a cumulative six years working in collegiate admissions, I am an excellent resource in the areas of test prep and college counseling, and I am extremely passionate about preparing students for their college journeys.
