I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Spanish with a concentration in Secondary Education. I am certified in Michigan to teach both subjects for grades 6-12 and have been a public school teacher for five years. I have experience working in both traditional and alternative settings, with students whose ages range from late elementary school to late adulthood (70+).
As a neurodivergent person I understand the need for individualization in education and am passionate about challenging systems that don't work, and I work to help students reach their goals by connecting their learning to their interests. I leverage relationships and humor in order to engage meaningfully with learners.
