Hi! My name is Thom, and I am an educator and artist.

I studied education and english at Appalachian State University, where I also am about to complete a MA in literature.

I have tutored and instructed across the K-12 spectrum, and at middle and high schools, for the past four years. Additionally, I tutored in high school.

I specialize in language arts, english, literature, writing, reading, history, and all humanities subjects. My strongest areas professionally are definitely in the arts-related fields of education, and I have strong experience with editing, professional writing, and poetry, all of which scaffold my personal approach to education.

I personally enjoy tutoring reading comprehension and literacy skills the most. Reading unlocks a whole world of experience and learning, and it is amazing to be a part of that experience.

I believe all students deserve an equal education and that students are the most valuable commodity we have. I am a workaholic teacher who will commit to be as available to you as possible.
