Certified Tutor

I am a college graduate with a B.A. in sociology and a minor in music. My first exposure to teaching was the summer after graduating from high school by teaching pre-k students how to read. Then, from 2016 to 2017 I tutored beginners and intermediate Spanish to students at my former college. I'm a native Spanish and English speaker. Apart from tutoring Spanish, I also tutor English, ESL, web design, Wordpress, online marketing, and basic graphic design (PhotoShop). Although my academic concentrations differ from what I tutor, being a sociology major has elicited my public speaking, writing and presentation skills while my music minor has let my creative side flourish as a singer-songwriter and producer. These skills are just as important in learning and teaching Spanish along with many other subjects that I tutor. Furthermore, over the years I have learned that many students who learn Spanish in a classroom setting struggle because they're solely taught technical linguistic lingo; they rarely ever get the opportunity to actually speak it with their classmates in order to comfortably develop a Spanish tongue. This is why I find it important to tutor such concepts in a relatable, less technical, and more creative way. However, I also acknowledge that everyone learns differently and do my best to adapt as quickly as possible to each learning style. Lastly, in my spare time, I enjoy drawing portraits, graphic design, making music and listening to loads of it.
