As a teacher who has an extensive history instructing in several subjects to a wide range of ages and cultures I feel confident in my ability to instruct my students in an exciting, involved, and practical manner.
Besides these qualities, I am also passionate and engaging and willing to adapt to the individual manner of the learning that may be required for the student. I have a love for what I do, as well as a genuine satisfaction assisting the students in meeting or exceeding the required goals required of them. I consider their success my success.
It is often in this era that teachers are required to instruct students in areas that they are unfamiliar with and unhappy with. This is not the issue that I face when teaching and tutoring. As a teacher, I am well versed in my areas in and outside the class and I am passionately involved in reading, writing, and discussing them. I believe that this is imperative for those that instruct.
For example, I am not just a history teacher, but I am a historian with experience traveling and debating as well as a one with a fervent involvement immersing myself with different cultures I am don't just teach writing, English, and literature, I am a successful, proven, and published writer that knows the field and why it is important for success in the real world.
In my opinion, I believe that sometimes what is lacking in educators is a ardor for teaching and and a sincere desire for the success of the student. In my experience this first involves an inborn desire to help others and in doing this as a teacher it often involves creating compelling strategies for success and nurturing an authentic interest from the student for what they are studying. If they find something bland, dull, and useless their motivation to progress is halted. This is one the main deterrents for effective learning and remembering.
A student needs to know why something is important, not just in the classroom, but in life. If they feel the information "demanded" of them to learn is simply a way of making a grade this lessens their chances for improving. As one with life experience, I always try and share why what what the student is learning is meaningful. I explain why it is crucial to know and understand it as the move on in life and become immersed in society outside of school education system.
As one who instructs in the many areas that apply to life, society, culture, social functioning, and success I feel grateful for the opportunity to impart my experience, wisdom, and love for the topics I teach. I truly believe that the educator can make a difference in the life of a student. Some of this involves encouragement, engaging challenges for the student realize their potential, and recognition for their accomplishments.
In closing, I believe it takes time and experience becoming an accomplished teacher, also with a proven track record assisting students in excelling to the best of their ability. I have accomplished this and feel confident that my history has shown this. With the experience I have gained through hands-on work in the classroom and one on one instructing I believe I know how best to adapt to a students style of individual learning. I accomplish this by instilling a bona fide desire from them to eagerly advance and succeed, especially in areas where students felt failure was inevitable.
