Certified Tutor

I grew up in Calgary, Canada, and I just graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature and a minor in Social Research and Public Policy from New York University Abu Dhabi. I have tutored middle school children in English, Math, and Social Studies in the past, and while in college I often helped other students with their writing. I tutor many different subjects and enjoy prepping for tests, especially the SAT, ACT, and GRE, but my personal passions are English and History. I particularly love helping students to craft strong (and grammatically sound) essays on any subject by working from a compelling thesis statement to a detailed outline to an excellent and convincing final paper. I'm a very patient tutor and love to use fun games to engage students while making sure that they understand the material rather than just memorizing. I'm passionate about learning, but outside of academia I spend my free time traveling, cooking, and making art. In college, I was lucky enough to study in Abu Dhabi, Florence, and Buenos Aires, and enjoyed seeing more of the Middle East, Europe, and South America. Now that I'm sticking closer to New York City, I'm spending my time doing a lot of cooking and baking, and occasionally painting and drawing, in between exploring what the city has to offer.
