Originally from Dallas, Texas, I graduated from Middlebury College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and American Literatures with a focus in Creative Writing. Upon graduation, I moved to Thailand to complete a yearlong Fulbright grant teaching English as a Foreign Language to 10th and 11th grade students at a large, rural, public high school. I returned to the states in October 2014 and moved to New York City a month later. I’ve taught a wide array of subjects ranging from workshops on Creative Writing and Gender Identity at the Exploration High School Summer Program at Yale to Theatre classes with elementary school students in Madrid, Spain all the way to EFL and public speaking courses with Somali-Bantu refugees in Burlington, Vermont and have found that my strengths as a teacher lie in the subjects and practices of communication, editing, reading, writing, grammar and languages. I firmly believe in emboldening my students with strategies that will help unlock their own immense potential and look forward to working with your student to discover and tease out which tools will best serve them, whether it be when navigating the SAT or ACT or when attempting to write sonnets or personal essays for English class.
