Currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.Since graduating from Sumner, I've volunteered to work with other students from my High School before seeking official employment at Metropolitan Community College - Penn Valley as a Math Tutor for Pre-College Mathematics (Ratios, Percents, etc.) up to Calculus 2 (Differentiation, Integration, etc.) - an organization that I've been a part of from October of 2019 to July of 2023. I have participated within both small and large organizations in leadership and otherwise (Marching Bands, Jazz Bands, Student Organizations and others), developing my ability to communicate and work with as many personalities as possible to pursue a common goal."If there's a will, there's a way" is one of my personal mantras, and I am dedicated to helping others make sense of the world around them.

Concepts and fundamentals are the foundations of learning. To understand and master a subject, one has to know its fundamentals. Having spent about 40 years in teaching and training, that is my mantra and that is what I preach to my students. In fact, the reason I have done fairly well in academics and have seen other do well, is primarily because of our penchant for learning the fundamentals.I did my schooling and undergraduate studies in India and got admitted to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), a prestigious engineering school. Admission to IIT is extremely difficult. Only the top 1 - 2 percent of the applicants are admitted. After completing my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, I came to the U.S. for my Graduate studies. To get admitted to graduate schools in US, with tuition waiver and monetary assistantship, one has to score above 90 percentiles in GRE. I did my graduate studies in mechanical engineering at University of Miami. I was a teaching assistant while doing my masters and taught engineering, physics, and math courses to the undergraduate students. In addition to teaching, I was involved in setting up exams and grading them.Later on, I continued teaching high school students, college students, and trained colleagues and customers in companies where I worked. I also pursued my MBA at Carnegie Mellon's Tepper Business School, having scored pretty high on the GMAT. During my MBA I wrote a business plan as a part of the entrepreneurship course, for which I was awarded Manufacturing Entrepreneur of the Year. I formed FurnXpert, the engineering software company to implement the award-winning plan.Not only I have been able to excel in academics, but I have also helped many students achieve academic successes, imparting in them my life long experience. Teaching is my passion.

I attended the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate and recently finished my Master's in Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. As a tutor, I create a space where my learners can feel empowered and safe to take on the sometimes difficult, yet often fulfilling and fun, challenge of learning new things. I practice a growth mindset philosophy, and I often say that it is okay to be wrong, it just means you haven't learned the material... yet. I am a freshman at Columbia University, currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science. In high school, I was a member of Mu Alpha Theta where I taught students geometry and algebra for two years. I tutor Computer Science, Math subjects up to Calculus III, Physics, and ACT Prep. In my tutoring experiences, I find that learning and adapting to your interests and areas of expertise helps you understand the material on a much deeper level. In my free time, I typically program applications and games in C, C++, Python, and Java.

So after graduation, I attended the Georgia Institute of Technology to earn a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I took advantage of Georgia Tech's study abroad program living and learning in eastern France, where I became fluent in the French language.Upon earning my degree, I was hired by Fortune Global 500 company in the Energy Sector where I held various technical positions worldwide in countries like Kazakhstan, Turkey, Scotland and France before coming back to the US in 2011.I tutor math and science, with a focus on more advanced subjects such as Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra, Calculus and Physics. These are the subjects I enjoy most because they allow us to model and understand the world we live in.I have benefited from tutoring in the past, and I believe a mentor can help fill the gaps in a student's education.
