I am a recent graduate from Tufts University, graduating last semester - Fall 2013 - as an early graduate. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on MEMS systems. Currently and while at Tufts, I have been working for the Center of Engineering Education Outreach Center. I am currently involved in a project helping students from Indonesia learn engineering concepts and fundamentals using LEGOs.I enjoy tutoring students in all levels of mathematics and physics. As an engineer, I understand the need for young students to be scientifically literate and capable. I love helping struggling students understand mathematical concepts that they didn't believe they were capable of learning. In my free time, I thoroughly enjoy climbing, hiking, and running.

I graduated from Earlham College with a dual major in Classical Studies (Ancient Greek and Latin) and Peace and Global Studies. Shortly after, I received a second education by joining the Peace Corps. In Peace Corps, I worked for three years in Swaziland as an HIV educator and English instructor.What I have learned in my years of tutoring and teaching experience is that it is really important to meet people where they are. Everyone learns differently, and I consider it my responsibility to adapt, research and do my part to find something that works well for each of my students. My experiences have taught me that for teachers and tutors, there are no results without patience and flexibility.My favorite subjects are Chemistry and Latin, and I am enrolled in Calculus and Biochemistry this semester. In my spare time, I walk in the Arboretum, play video games and deal with my medical school applications.

I am a graduate of Ithaca College with a B.A. in Spanish. Since graduation, I have taught English in Alcazar de San Juan and Madrid, Spain for four years. There, I taught adults, primary school aged students and adolescents. I am really fond of learning languages and I am most passionate about tutoring Spanish and ESL. I enjoy preparing creative lesson plans, teaching the Jolly phonics phonetic system to primary school students, evaluating and assessing students' progress and preparing students for the Trinity, Starters, Movers, Flyers, KET and First Certificate Cambridge exams. As a native English speaker, I know exactly how I would like to be taught Spanish and design a variety of activities based on what the student desires. I am a firm believer in education and enjoy sharing this appreciation with others. I am accustomed to working with people from many different backgrounds and eagerly modify my teaching to meet the need of each individual. At this school, I am also the Science Olympiad coach where I teach a range of different science events. As a tutor, I come up with plans to help students achieve their goals based on their age, the subject, and their desire for improvement in certain areas. Math and science are my strong suit and what I am most passionate about tutoring. I want to use my experience to help my students learn how to tackle any problem that comes their way!

I have recently graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in chemistry. I just started working a day job, but I would love to get into tutoring again! I tutored a bit of general chemistry in college and honestly, I loved the experience! I would love to teach chemistry and math because of my solid foundation in these subjects. I would love to be a teacher later in life, but for now, I want to focus on how far I can go with chemistry. On my free time, I love playing Ultimate Frisbee, running, watching TV, and hanging out with friends. I believe that compatibility is very important between tutor and student, so I definitely hope that I am able to communicate with some students that need help in the maths and sciences!
