I've spent the past year teaching high school technology and business classes and will begin graduate school at Columbia University in the fall. I am available for tons of subjects including college essay prep, SAT and AP exam prep, English and writing classes, as well as some high school science courses, and all middle and elementary school subjects.I love teaching and helping students learn, and especially love fostering curiousity outside of school. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my BA from St. Edward's University in Communication and a member of the Honors program where I completed my undergraduate thesis. I also work as a freelance journalist and enjoy photography in my spare time!

In each of these roles that I've played what remains most important to me are the lessons that transcend the subject. While a passing grade or a high score is a laudable accomplishment, I believe real praise should be reserved for the process. In my view, approaching a task with integrity constitutes a greater victory than any possible result. Self-reliance, a positive attitude, the benefits of practice, being responsible: these lessons enable students to succeed in both an immediate and long-term sense. These are the lessons that will empower students to better themselves in the classroom and outside of it. If I do my job correctly, my students will come to recognize that they do not need me to accomplish what they've set out to do.I have the pedigree to teach at the highest levels. I have a doctorate in Comparative Literature, I have been an instructor at the university level for eight years, I have taught internationally, and I have assisted students of all ages in everything from physics to philosophy. It has been a great privilege to have the opportunities that I have had to develop myself within this vocation. I believe, however, that my qualifications would mean little if they were not complimented by a passionate dedication to education. I feel honored to be placed in a position to help people grow, not simply as students, but as citizens of this world.

I am a graduate of the University of Phoenix. In 2012 I received my Master's in Business Administration and my life hasn't been the same since. After graduation I began a career in finance and banking. Along the way I have been a financial advisor, licensed stock broker, and a district executive for a regional bank. Currently I am working as an analyst for a digital marketing firm. I love statistics and how businesses and leaders can gain better understanding and make more informed decisions with the use of analytics. I am also passionate about the power of education because I have seen firsthand in my own life how transformative education can be. In my spare time I enjoy playing music on my saxophone, participating in martial arts classes, and getting outdoors with my family on hikes or bike rides.

In terms of education, I have a Master's degree in Special Education from Southern Connecticut State University, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Marketing from the University of Connecticut. I have over 11 years of public school teaching experience as well as a year of teaching ESL online. I am a State Certified Teacher and also a National Geographic Certified Educator! I also have a 120 hour TESOL Certificate to strengthen my skillset. I also have a background in corporate America for about twenty years prior to teaching.I love to travel and explore the world, and share what I learn. I have won two national teaching awards which sent me on Fellowships to explore and learn as well. For one I went to Iceland, for another I was honored to travel with National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions to the Galapagos Islands! Both were incredible honors and so enriching! My teaching in the classroom focused on students in grades K through 8. Reading and Math are truly foundational skills. I love to teach students about the world around them and how what they are learning is relevant to life. I love being around children. When not working, I love soccer, basketball and to travel and explore the world! Some of my favorite places to visit are Iceland, the Galapagos Islands, St. John in the USVI, Banff, Canada, New England, Florida, and more. I look forward to teaching you!

I am a third-year Psychology major at Reed College in Portland, OR. I work as a researcher in a cognitive neuroscience lab studying human perception, and I am interested in pursuing a graduate degree in neuroscience. I have always been drawn to tutoring and mentorship roles, beginning when I joined my high school's Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program as a peer tutor. Currently, I tutor other students at my college in Writing and Humanities through my college's Academic Support Center.I love helping students feel more comfortable with all aspects of the writing process, including brainstorming ideas, creating strong arguments, and outlining/revising written assignments. I also enjoy working with students on the SAT, especially the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section.In my spare time, I'm hiking, making music, and learning programming languages!

I am now a rising sophomore at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University, on track for concurrent majors in Asian Studies and Global Studies. In high school, I was Valedictorian as well as President of the National Honors Society; in college, I have made Dean's List both semesters, have two simultaneous Research Assistant positions, and have been nominated as an Honors Teaching Assistant in the Fall semester! Someday, I want to work in academia, both out of my love for learning new things and teaching rising students. I am also fully bilingual English/ Spanish and am conversant in French and Portuguese.I received an MBA from INCAE , under the auspices of Harvard.
