I'm a graduate of the BA/MA program at The New School, which I attended as Dean's Scholar, earning my BA with honors in Creative Writing in my junior year and my MA in Creative Publishing & Critical Journalism in my senior year. That is to say, I know what it's like to have to juggle a lot of academic responsibilities and pressure. My role as a tutor is not just to help momentarily alleviate that stress in our specific area of study, but to provide my students with the tools to approach any and all scholastic pursuits successfully.
I started peer tutoring in 10th grade at BHSEC's Writing Center, and it ignited a passion for helping students articulate their thoughts with confidence that has only grown over the past six years. During my BA, I worked both at my college and independently as a general writing tutor, primarily focusing on helping students with academic essays covering a wide range of topics, but specializing in Literary Analysis. I got my fix of creative writing tutoring as a TA for Advanced Poetry during my senior year. Since graduating, I have expanded my focus to include high school and middle school English and the Writing & Language section of the SATs.
