Md Harun Or: Lemont tutor
Certified Tutor
Many students ask, "When will I ever use this in real life?" That's exactly where I come in. Whether it's connecting quantum mechanics to lasers in DNA repair or showing how chemical kinetics explains everyday cooking reactions, I help students uncover the "why" behind the "what."
I'm a PhD candidate in Chemistry at Temple University, where I've worked as a teaching assistant since 2021. I've taught General Chemistry labs and supported instruction in theoretical courses like Physical Chemistry, Quantum Chemistry, and Biophysical Chemistry. I also bring over a decade of experience tutoring high school and college students in math and physics including Optics, Electricity and Magnetism, Thermodynamics, Calculus, Algebra, SAT Math, GRE Math, helping them make sense of abstract concepts and apply them with confidence.
My teaching style emphasizes real understanding over memorization. I break down challenging topics by tying them to familiar, everyday experiences whether it's physics through sports, chemistry through medicine, or calculus through motion. My sessions are interactive, supportive, and tailored to each student's pace and learning style whether you prefer a slower, step-by-step approach or a faster, challenge-based pace.
If you're looking for someone who makes science and math make sense and matter I'd love to help. Let's turn confusion into confidence, one concept at a time.

Degree: Temple University - Doctorate (e.g., PhD, MD, JD, etc.), Chemistry
I am deeply fascinated by exploring the frontiers of science, particularly the molecular mechanisms that maintain life at the most fundamental level. My research focuses on studying DNA damage and repair mechanisms using ultrafast laser spectroscopy — a cutting-edge technique that allows us to observe chemical processes as they happen in real time, within femtoseconds. This passion for uncovering the secrets of molecular dynamics not only fuels my scientific work, but also inspires my teaching. I enjoy bringing the wonder of these advanced concepts into my tutoring, helping students see how the principles they learn in physics and chemistry connect to exciting real-world applications. Beyond science, I enjoy reading about scientific discoveries, exploring new technologies, and sharing the excitement of learning with others.
