Joel: Woodbury tutor
Certified Tutor
With a strong passion for helping others, shaped by my military experience, I have developed exceptional communication skills, allowing me to connect with individuals of all ages and backgrounds effectively. Throughout my career, I have consistently delivered high-quality results in response to every challenge presented to me.
I hold an Associate's and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, as well as a Master's degree in Computer Education. With over 15 years of experience, I have taught technology and communication to both military and civilian personnel. Currently, I work as a training developer, specializing in communication training for the U.S. Army. In addition, I am actively pursuing IT certifications and preparing for the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) exam.
My favorite subject to tutor is computer education, covering everything from basic operating system navigation to advanced programming languages. My teaching philosophy is simple: "Knowledge that is not shared is knowledge wasted." I take an interactive and flexible approach, ensuring students learn at their own pace while actively engaging with the material.

My greatest passion is dedicating time to my family—my wife and two daughters—because I believe that quality time with loved ones is truly priceless. I value both time and knowledge as my most important assets, and I strive to use them meaningfully. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy scuba diving and hold multiple PADI certifications. I’m also passionate about video games, music, audiobooks, and staying active through physical training. Additionally, I dedicate time to giving back to the community through organizations such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the U.S. Army Signal Corps Regimental Association (SCRA).
