Born and raised in an academic family in Shanghai, China, I earned my B.S. and M.S. in Biochemical Engineering from Wuxi Institute of Light Industry. With a deep passion for education and research, I later moved to the U.S. to pursue a Ph.D. in Food Science and an MBA, fully intending to follow in my family's footsteps to become a college professor.

During my time at Oregon State University, I was awarded a Teaching Scholarship and taught lab and office Q&A sessions for Food Chemistry, Food Microbiology, and Dairy Science. I cherished the experience of teaching and mentoring college students and was honored to receive the Wiegand Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award for two consecutive years.

Although my career ultimately led me to a senior technical executive role in the food industry, my teaching and communication skills have remained invaluable whether mentoring young scientists or presenting technical concepts to business executives and partners.

Additionally, raising my two wonderful children gave me extensive tutoring experience, from Chinese language instruction to homework support and standardized test preparation. Both became fluent in Chinese, and their academic achievements reflect our efforts: my son received a perfect Upper SSAT score, leading to his admission to Choate Rosemary Hall and Milton Academy, followed by a 35 on the ACT and enrollment at Northwestern University. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D in Chemistry at UCLA. My daughter earned a 33 on the ACT and attended Oberlin College; currently a research associate at Harvard Medical School.

I am grateful for the Varsity Tutors platform, which allows me to share my knowledge across a range of STEM subjects and help students improve their standardized test scores. Through the power of the internet, my passion for teaching continues to thrive.
