Certified Tutor

I completed my PhD and MS in Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I studied the interactions between humans and nature. I also completed a Master of Arts in Teaching at Cornell University, where I specialized in Biology and Agriculture. My undergraduate degrees are in Environmental Studies and French. I studied abroad in French and Costa Rica as an undergraduate, and worked for over three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa. I have tutored all ages, including ELL students in France and Costa Rica. Before returning to graduate school, I was a public school science teacher at the middle and high school level. Since completing my PhD, I have taught a wide range of science and social science topics, and worked extensively with college age and adult students. As a tutor, some of my subjects have included nutrition, biology, reading, math, French, and Spanish. When I taught public school, my students included early elementary reading and math students. I am most passionate about teaching social studies, biological sciences, and environmental sciences, but enjoy a wide range of subjects.
