I am a senior at Grinnell College close to finishing my Studio Art degree. I am a native Spanish and English speaker with experience tutoring undergraduate level Spanish and Spanish writing. In Spanish tutoring, I focus on addressing any communication errors and informing students of possible alternatives phrases or vocabulary they can use for their intended purposes. In Spanish tutoring, I enjoy listening to students so that I can inform them of several ways they could communicate themselves and informing them of their usage frequency/rarity so that students can chose vocabulary that is appropriate for their intended audience.

I also offer college application help, such as help deciding what colleges are best to apply to, essay writing help, and general student advising.

I also have experience tutoring several art subjects. My main focus when tutoring arts is to highlight student strengths so that students can continue to sharpen the skills that come most natural to them, but also identifying possible student weaknesses so that students can practice those skills that come less easily to them. Every student is different so I like to ask students if they prefer we focus more on further developing strong skills, or if they prefer to address and practice weaker skills. Building artistic confidence is key!
