Dora: Oak Forest tutor
Certified Tutor
I am, and always have been, passionate about educating children. When my children were young, we chose home-schooling and I became their teacher. I also tutored neighbor children, and taught several children how to read. I broadened my experience when I became a developmental therapist for children with Autism, working in both public schools, and for a private agency. This afforded me the opportunity to teach children with disabilities. In that role, I met many people and became a go-to person in the community for additional help for students. I continued tutoring and taking on private clients after moving to a new state. My next new experience was becoming a preschool teacher at a private preschool to 12th school. My role was to prepare the students for the Kindergarten entrance assessment. That role led to additional tutoring opportunities.
I am most passionate about teaching and strengthening reading, math, and English. I love literature and writing.
I currently assist my children with educating their own children at home.
I do lack a degree, though I have 66 college credits. I don't lack experience and many successes.
I am not as comfortable with grade level work above 8th grade, but I am very comfortable with prek through 8th.
I look forward to helping boost your child's academic success, but, more importantly, their confidence in learning.
