Certified Tutor

I am currently a junior at the University of Pittsburgh. I am studying for a major in biology and a minor in Spanish with aspirations to go to medical school and become a licensed physician. As a tutor, my teaching style focuses on helping the student think and reason through the problem to stimulate the student's critical thinking skills. This helps the student stay engaged throughout the lesson. Throughout my time tutoring, I held lessons on various topics in biology and mathematics for elementary, middle, and high school students. Many of the topics I've tutored are fresh in my memory since I have recently completed courses that cover those specific areas.

Beyond tutoring for school subjects, I have assisted several students with SAT preparation, including providing practice problems and test-taking strategies to improve their scores. I understand the amount of dedication and commitment needed to achieve a desired score, and through tutoring, I continue to advise students on the best way to improve their consistency and maintain their persistence to achieve their academic goals. I have plenty of practice materials that I can provide students to help improve their understanding.
