I am a graduate of the University of Vermont, University of Puerto Rico and The Art Students League of
NYC, I received my Bachelor of Science in Art Education, and my graduate studies were done in Education of Disadvantaged Children in Puerto Rico, as well as a Masters of Fine Art. I also have a degree in Graphic design, and Textile design. My formal professional training includes many years of fine art study with some of the top illustrators and fine artists in the field.
I have traveled world wide, as well as teaching in France, Italy, Ecuador and Taiwan. For the past 15 years I have been teaching/coaching and tutoring online to children and adults for various subjects including
ELS, Creative writing, Business English, Natural Science, Geography, Geology and all the Arts- painting, drawing, digital art and design. I am a certified ESL teacher with TESOL and TEFL certifications, as well as an international award winning professional Fine Arts artist and instructor.
I was director for a large homeschool organization for over 12 years, and designed curriculum for all levels of elementary
and secondary education, and have won awards for arts programming as well as science curriculum for the state of North Carolina.
I am proud to say I homeschooled my own daughter up until her acceptance to Duke university.
My passion is teaching and my goal is to help my students excel with their understanding of any subject they are finding difficulty in. Having taught all levels and ages of children to adults, I have a unique ability to connect with my students, no matter what the age.
I especially enjoy designing lessons that are customized to my students needs, and seeing my students grasp concepts, or increase their understanding by learning new material.
My specialties are teaching reading, comprehension, creative writing, the Arts such as drawing and painting , ESL- English, and Sciences.
My other passions are the natural world of animals as well as wildlife rehab, gardening, cooking, photography, digital art, painting,Scuba Diving, Skiing and living in beautiful natural surroundings of forests and mountains.
I am certain that with my wide experience in subject matter and over 30 years of teaching worldwide, that I can offer you a distinctly positive outcome with our tutoring session. My classes are fun, engaging, and I am a very patient teacher with a focus on you or your child's success. I hope to see you in my classroom soon.
