Certified Tutor

I am a high school mathematics teacher with fifteen years of teaching experience in grades 7-12. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2006, and my Master's Degree from Wilkes University in 2013. I've taught a wide range of classes that includes Middle School math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Probability and Statistics, and College Algebra 2. My favorite subjects to teach are Algebra 1 and Geometry because they are the most useful to everyday people. I enjoy helping students be successful in math and gaining a love of learning in a subject that not everyone enjoys. I like to do this by relating the material to student-based interests and showing real world applications. This is an integral part of my teaching philosophy of getting to know the students and building a strong rapport based on mutual respect. I also excel at showing multiple ways to complete a problem and finding the one that best fits the student's skill sets. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching the varsity soccer team, and playing retro video games.
